  • Rheumatoid Factor Test | Rheumatoid Arthritis Factor Test

Rheumatoid Factor Test is used to check for Rheumatoid Arthritis and other autoimmune disorders.

RF is a protein produced by your immune system that attacks healthy tissue of your body. RF is found in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) which is an autoimmune condition. Typical symptoms are: joint pain, stiffness and inflammation among others.

Elevated rheumatoid factor is also found in other diseases like scleroderma, Sjogren’s disease, cancer, tuberculosis, etc.

  • CCP Blood Test | Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibody Test

CCP Antibody or Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) Antibody (IgG) Test looks for the presence of antibodies that are produced by the body due to an autoimmune disorder.

A healthy immune system protects the body by attacking foreign organisms such as bacteria and viruses. However, in cases where an autoimmune disease exists, the body mistakenly attacks healthy tissue instead. In RA, the joints which are designed to absorb shock and allow smooth movement between bones, are targeted by the autoimmune process.

Testing for the presence of anti-CCP is a relatively new support tool in helping diagnose rheumatoid arthritis.
