Occult Blood Stool Test or Fecal Globin Test is an easy test used to detect blood or microscopic blood (occult blood) in your stool.

This test checks for bleeding in your lower gastrointestinal tract and it may occur from polyps, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel diseases.

Typically, occult blood is passed in such small amounts that it can only be detected through the chemicals used in this test.

Preparation: Fasting is not necessary for this test.
