Pregnenolone Test

Pregnenolone Test measures the amount of pregnenolone in the blood.

Pregnenolone’s primary role in the body is that of a "precursor hormone" or "mother hormone" used in making many other important hormones such as Androgens, Estrogens, Cortisol, Progesterone among others. It is also essencial for brain development and cognitive function. It has been proved that Pregnenolone levels decrease with age.

A decrease of Pregnenolone may result in decreased sex drive, depression, fatigue, memory loss, bone density loss, muscle mass loss.

Preparation: Fasting is not necessary for this test. Please have the lab collected early in the morning.
